United Way Invites Programs Focused on Positive Outcomes to Apply for Funding
Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way invites groups and organizations providing qualified programs that demonstrate positive and measurable outcomes in the lives of residents in Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties to apply for funding this year. United Way is a channel for funding and resources to programs that have positive and measurable impacts on one or more of six identified issues: improved access to transportation; quality early childhood education; acceptance of diversity and inclusion; prevention and recovery of behavioral health and addiction issues; helping families to be financially stable; and teens.
A representative from organizations wishing to apply for GSV United Way’s 2018 grant cycle must attend a mandatory application training, where they will be given instruction on how to access the online application. Applicants will not be able to apply without attending one of the two offered trainings. These one-hour trainings are scheduled for:
· Monday, October 16th from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
· Wednesday, October 18th from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Both trainings will be held in the 2nd floor conference room at The Northumberland National Bank Operations Center (85 King St, Northumberland) and registration is not required.
“United Way’s goal is to work with community partners on the root causes of big issues facing our region,” said Sara Lauver, Director of Community Impact and Marketing. “Together, with a clear focus on community goals, increased revenue from our fundraising campaign and an outcomes-based approach, we can achieve much greater results.”
