Q. How long has Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way been serving our valleys residents?
A. In 1996, the United Fund of Central Susquehanna Valley (Sunbury) joined the East Snyder County United Way (Selinsgrove) to form The United Way of Central Susquehanna Valley (UWCSV). In 2005, The United Way of Central Susquehanna Valley joined the Upper Northumberland County United Way to form the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way.
Q. What areas does Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way serve?
A. We serve Snyder County and the Western and Upper Northern part of Northumberland County.
Q. How much of the money donated will stay in the valley?
A. Over 99% of the money donated stays in the valley. The 1% that leaves is comprised of dues to United Way of PA and United Way of America.
Q. How much of the money donated will be given back to the community?
A. Currently, 84% of the money donated is given back to the community. This means that 84 cents of every dollar you give will be used to fund member agency programs and help assist working people and families who have experienced some type of sudden emergency in their life.
Q. How many member agencies are affiliated with Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way?
A. We support 30 member agencies that provide over 60 health and human service programs. The member agencies and their links can be found on our member agency page of this website.
